Canadian firms to increase employment in 2012

The number of jobs available in Canada is expected to rise for the third-consecutive year as more employers look to add positions in the early part of 2012.

CareerBuilder.ca's latest figures, released as part of its 2012 Job Forecast, have shown that an increased number of employers compared to the same time last year will be looking to add to their permanent full time staff early next year.

IT jobs are set to see the biggest rise, with 37 per cent of companies looking to add jobs in this area in the New Year, while 32 per cent were set to add administrative roles.

Brent Rasmussen, president of CareerBuilder.ca, said: " Even as the global economy continues to struggle, Canada is expected to add jobs at a steady pace in 2012."

Earlier this month, Statistics Canada reported that the number of full-time jobs available in the country had increased by 35,000 in November.
